What is custom software development?
Building software around one business's process, instead of adapting the business to a packaged product. For us that usually means a web platform, a client portal, an internal dashboard or the database behind them, connected to the systems you already use.
Do we need custom software, or will an off-the-shelf tool do?
Often an existing tool is enough, and we will say so. Custom software earns its place when your process is unusual, when the work spans several tools or when clients or staff need to see their own part of it.
What are internal tools?
Software only your own team uses, such as an admin screen, an approvals workflow, a dashboard or a place to record and track work. They replace the spreadsheets and email threads a process has outgrown.
