AI & Automation

About Greg East ACA, Chartered Accountant

Chartered in accounting. Native in AI. Sydney-based, serving Australia.

Greg

GME Solutions was founded by Greg East, an ACA-qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAEW). He qualified at PKF Littlejohn over five years in management accounting and financial-services audit, latterly leading audits of regulated insurers, brokers, and MGAs and reviewing complex treatments under IFRS and UK GAAP.

Since then he's run the finance function for an international events business across 11+ cities: multi-currency revenue through Xero and Stripe, month-end close, board reporting, and an AI reconciliation pipeline he built that saves 8–10 hours a month. He also does financial modelling and controls work, and invests himself, so he reads the numbers from both sides. That's the rigour GME brings to AI and automation: better decisions, and the systems built behind them.

How we think

  1. Diagnose

Every engagement starts with your numbers and your processes. We read what's already there before anyone touches a tool.

  2. Design & Deliver

We work out the right move and then deliver it: chartered-accounting judgement first, then the strategy, automation, or build to make it real.

  3. Evolve

Finance systems and AI are never finished. We stay close to what we've built so it keeps earning its place as your business grows.

Credentials & background

  • ACA-qualified Chartered Accountant — Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
  • 5+ years in financial services audit, leading engagements across insurance, payments, funds, and asset management.
  • Based in Sydney, Australia, working with SMEs across Australia. UK experience informs every build.
  • Practical depth in Xero, n8n, Claude, Next.js, and Supabase — finance systems built by someone who reads the debits and credits.

How we think about the work

Finance expertise first, technology second. Every engagement starts with the controls, the reporting standards, and the compliance obligations your team actually lives under — AASB 15, AASB 16, Privacy Act 1988, Australian Privacy Principles, ATO guidance — and works back from there. When we automate, the audit trail is clean, the journal entries are correct, and the numbers are ones a reviewer can trace.
