AI opportunity assessment
AI opportunity assessment for growing businesses
An AI opportunity assessment, sometimes called an AI readiness assessment, looks at how your business runs and ranks where AI and automation would help first. You get a clear plan for what to build, with the risks and controls.
- Enquiry details retyped from email into the CRM
- Supplier invoices keyed in by hand
- Weekly figures pulled together from several systems
- Calls missed out of hours

Questions
What is an AI opportunity assessment?
A review of how your business runs, followed by a ranked list of where AI and automation would help. It covers your processes, systems and data, the risks of each idea and where a person should check the work. It ends with a plan for what to build first.
Is it the same as an AI readiness assessment?
Largely, yes. Both ask whether your business is ready to use AI and where to start. Ours puts the weight on opportunities, so you get a ranked list of what to build as well as a plain view of any gaps in your data and systems.
What do we get at the end?
A written assessment with the ranked list, the risks and controls for each item and a plan for what to build first. We walk you through it and answer your questions.
What do you need from us?
Time with the people who run the processes, a view of the systems you use and a sample of the data they hold. We agree what is shared before anything starts.
Do we have to let you build what it recommends?
No. The assessment stands on its own. You can ask us to build, build with your own team or take it elsewhere.
Is it safe to put business data into AI?
It depends on the tool and the data. The assessment looks at what data each idea would use, where it would go and who could see it, and flags the ones that need extra care.
Is this only for large companies?
No. It suits growing businesses that want a clear view of where to start, without a long programme.
How big is an assessment?
It depends on how many teams and systems are involved. We agree the scope with you at the start, before any work begins.
Why does a chartered accountant lead this?
GME was founded by Greg East, a chartered accountant. His audit training taught him how businesses run, how controls work and that every number traces back to its source, and that shapes what we look at.
